Ranchi Diaries depicts the story of Gudiya and her friends who hail from a small town Ranchi. She has the dream of becoming a pop sensation like Shakira. Her talent draws the unwanted attention of the local Mafia kingpin, Thakur bhaiya & makes her elope with childhood lover Manish.

Set in the capital of Jharkhand, Ranchi, the movie ‘Ranchi Diaries’, starring Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill, Soundarya Sharma, Himansh Kohli and Taaha, is a slice-of-life comedy that will resonate with youngsters. The three-song album has been composed by Tony Kakkar, Jeet Gannguli and Nickk.

‘Thoda Aur’, a romantic track penned by Manoj Muntashir, features Soundarya and Himansh and showcases Arijit Singh’s effortless singing and the honeyed voice of Palak Muchhal. This typical, oft-heard slow and melodious music has been composed by Jeet Gannguli. If you are a fan of mushy love tracks, this one will probably be a part of your ‘romantic songs’ playlist.
The next track, ‘Fashion Queen’ has Soundarya, referred to as ‘local Shakira’ in the movie, shaking a leg. This peppy, Punjabi number rendered by Raahi, has rapper Nickk as the lyricist and music composer. Youthful in its soundscape, the rap and Punjabi-Hindi lyrics of this song could strike a chord with the youth.

Tony Kakkar, who debuted in 2014 with his single ‘Sawan Aya Hai’ that was used in ‘Creature 3D’ later, has composed, sung and penned the lyrics of the next song, ‘Helicopter’. This one is again a youthful and upbeat dance number, and singer Neha Kakkar does a commendable job along with her brother Tony.
