Rahul Dravid's son

Rahul Dravid‘s son Samit scores a century in an Under-14 tournament representing Bangalore United Cricket Club (BUCC) against Frank Anthony Public School in a Tiger Cup match. The aim of this tournament is to spread awareness about tigers among school going children. Samit, who will turn 11 in October this year smashed 125 for his side. Dravid played a big part in the 213-run stand with teammate Pratyush G. BUCC won the match by 246 runs as their opposition were bowled out for just 80, according to ndtv.com. Samit was often seen beside his father in many Indian Premier League (IPL) matches when he was representing Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Samit, just last year did extremely well with the bat, scoring 93 for Mallya Aditi International School against Delhi Public School (Whitefield) to lead his team to a 63-run win. According to reports in Cricketnext, Dravid jr powered his team to 168 for 3 in their stipulated 16 overs. The Mallya Aditi International School bowlers then restricted Delhi Public School (Whitefield) to 107 for 6. Conflicting reports suggest that Samit scored 91, but in any case his innings remains an impressive one. What is even more interesting is that Samit scored 77 a few days before this knock. Samit as a result was declared the best batsman in the Under-12 Gopalan Cricket Challenge in September 2015.

Samit’s father Rahul is currently the mentor of Delhi Daredevils (DD), a role he took up just ahead of IPL 2016. He is also the current India A and India Under-19 Coach. His Under-19 team recently reached the ICC Under-19 World Cup final, where they finished second best to West Indies.
