Odd-Even phase II: Shuttle service to ferry MPs to Parliament

With the second half of the Budget session of Parliament beginning Monday, the Delhi government said it will run a shuttle service dedicated to MPs while appealing to them to follow the odd-even rule.

Transport Minister Gopal Rai said he has spoken to Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and arranged alternate transport system for MPs whose car numbers would be in violation of the rule.

The minister also requested the MPs to carpool to avoid challans. MPs are not exempt from the odd-even scheme.

“Six buses will leave from North Avenue and South Avenue at 9 am. Three DTC buses will be stationed at both points. They will ply from South Avenue via Ashoka Road and Akbar Road. Those who have even number cars can avail of the service, or they can carpool,” said Rai.

Meanwhile, BJP Rajya Sabha member Vijay Goel declared that 400 Lok Abhiyaan volunteers would survey people across 14 districts in Delhi Monday. “Volunteers wearing green T -shirts will hand out survey forms to people at busy crossroads to get their views on issues related to the odd-even scheme,” said Goel.
