2016 Toyota Fortuner might come to India sooner than expected. According to a fresh report, the Japanese carmaker could launch the new Fortuner in India towards the end of this year. Earlier it was reported to arrive in the first half of 2017. The Toyota Fortuner 2016 is already on sale in several overseas markets such as Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and Argentina.
For the Indian market, the new Toyota Fortuner will be made available with an all-new ‘GD’ diesel engine lineup – a 160bhp, 2.4-litre and a 177bhp, 2.8-litre. The SUV will come with both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain systems. Similar to the Australian model, the India-bound model will come in three trim levels – GX, GXL and Crusade – and two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. With premium styling, up-market interior and more efficient engine lineup, the new Toyota Fortuner 2016 will surely be a lot better product than the current one.

With additional features, new platform and other changes, the Toyota Fortuner 2016 prices are likely to be a notch higher than the current model. We expect it to be priced between Rs. 23 lakh – Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
