Murthal: After NRI files complaint, SIT adds gangrape section in FIR

THE Haryana Police on Monday informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court that the SIT probing the alleged Murthal sexual assault case during the Jat agitation has added the section pertaining to gangrape to the FIR after receiving an anonymous letter from Faridabad and one from an Australia-based NRI, which was forwarded by an electronic media channel.

The SIT head told the court that the anonymous letter, posted from Mathura Road in Faridabad on March 5, revealed that the victim was a final-year degree student who was on her way home with her father from the college hostel.

The letter from the NRI claimed she was travelling on NH-1 near Murthal where she was allegedly raped. The victim has also named a few relatives.
