ISRO Revealed India’s Own Space Station Plan

ISRO Chief K. Sivan in his press conference along with Minister of State for Prime minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh revealed that ISRO is planning to launch India’s own space station without any collaboration or help of International Space Station and NASA.

India’s plan to have its own space station project will start after the first mission of sending Indian person into space. Its name is GAGANYAAN, scheduled for August 2022. Before that, in July 2019 this year, India is going to launch CHANDRAYAAN 2 as well.

Now that it has pretty much clear what is the motive behind sending men into space.
People are very much intrigued and excited.

For now, the details which ISRO chief have revealed so far is that

Its weight will be around 20 tones and will contain the facilities where astronauts can stay for 10-15 days.

ISRO would place it at the height of around 400km above the earth surface.

And this space station will be launched after 5-7 years of Gaganyaan mission.

  1. We have to sustain the Gaganyaan program after the launch of the human space mission. In this context, India is planning to have its own space station, said Dr. Kailasavadivoo Sivan, chairman of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). ISRO is India s equivalent to NASA.
