In Pathankot, Class 8 girl accuses three seniors of gangrape

A Class 8 student of Government High School, Barth Sahib, in Pathankot district has accused her seniors of gangrape. The victim, 13, accused her three seniors — two from Class 10 and one from Class 9 — of raping her about 10 days back, but she hushed up the matter due to the shame. Police have started investigations into the allegations.

Deputy superintendent of police (DSP, rural) Parabhjot Singh Virk admitted that the victim from Khobe village had on Thursday lodged a complaint of her gang rape at the Kanwa police station, following which police booked three students under sections 376D (intercourse by any member of the management or staff of a hospital with any woman in that hospital) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

He said a medical check-up of the victim had been conducted and the report was awaited, following which police would reach at some conclusion. He said all three boys from Samrala village near Barth Sahib would be quizzed and the case would be referred to juvenile justice board as all accused and victim are minor. He, however, said there was no arrest made in this connection.
