Hero MotoCorp that exceeds the landmark of 6 lakh plus monthly sales in September 2015, introduced the Maestro Edge scooter in India at a starting price of Rs. 49,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Available in two variants – LX and VX – the Hero Maestro Edge features a more contemporary styling than the regular Maestro. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the scooter is manufactured at the company’s Gurgaon-based plant.

Based on Hero’s new platform, the new Maestro Edge receives noticeable cosmetic updates that make it look sportier than the regular model. Besides this, the scooter comes with several convenience features and accessories. Powering the new Maestro Edge is a 110.9cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine that develops a maximum power of 8.31bhp at 8,000rpm and 8.30Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Paired with a CVT (continues variable transmission) gearbox, it returns a fuel efficiency of 63.8kmpl. This premium scooter measures 1,841mm in length, 695mm in width and 1,190mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,261mm. With a ground clearance of 155mm, it is claimed to tackle all sorts of potholes and undulance with ease. The scooter has a kerb weight of 110kgs.

The new Maestro Edge is available with a choice of seven colors – Panther Black, Pearl Silver White, Shooting Night Star, Candy Blazing Red, Techno Blue, Matt Blue and Matt Vernier Grey. It is equipped with front telescopic front and shock absorbers rear suspension. The scooter rides on five-spoke, 12-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 90/90-12-54J front and 90/100-10-53J rear tyres. The Hero’s new Maestro Edge comes with front and rear drum brakes that are combined with integrated braking system. It also gets twin faux air scoops on both sides of the front apron, revised headlamps and digital-analog meter console. The turn blinkers look bigger than that of the regular Masetro’s.

At the rear end, the scooter features a 3D emblem, a more modern-looking tail-lamp with integrated blinkers, a revised exhaust and few others. All these design touches make the already sporty Hero Maestro look a lot more contemporary and premium. Features like under seat luggage lamp, mobile charging socket and rear luggage hook come as standard offerings. While features like magnet holder, side stand and sensor are available only on the top-end VX variant. Additionally, the scooter hosts a plethora of accessories such as a next-gen immobiliser, external fuel filler and LED tail light cluster.
