Chandrayaan-2 orbiter is health and continuously orbiting around the moon, it has a life span of one year. Same like Chandrayaan-1 it will revolve around Moon and observer the surface from a distance. Unfortunately, Lander Vikram which also has Rover Pragayan in it lost contact with the control centre. ISRO stopped getting signal when it was 2.1 km away from the surface of the moon.
Scientists are analyzing data what went wrong and what is the present condition. It was the experimental mission to do soft landing on Moon. ISRO neither has done before nor had the experience of the technology. With rigorous dedication, they built their own technology in 11 years to do soft landing on Moon.
Certainly it a big lesson ISRO has learned or learned right now which is also a part of space exploration. Space is full of uncertainties and overpassing all the challenges ISRO made the country proud on many occasions including on Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter and Lander.
Getting signal back is little challenging, so far no details have come out. But what they have achieved so far is no less than success.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ISRo director K Sivan can be seen in videos emotional and depressed.

As a scientist K Sivan gave everything to science, 104 Rocket launches also known as a rocket man of India spent 11 years on this mission. One can easily understand the emotional pressure. Otherwise, it was the experiment the real mission Chandrayaan-2 is healthy and firmly revolving around the moon.
