BJP MP and actor Paresh Rawal violates Odd Even rule

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament and actor Paresh Rawal on Monday violated the Odd Even rule and reached Parliament in an even number car, while today today cars with odd numbers can ply on the street. Delhi is currently following the Odd Even formula for the second time for a set of 15 days in an attempt to curb traffic and pollution.

BJP MPs Ranjan Bhatt and Hari Om Pandey today availed special DTC bus service launched for MPs, to reach Parliament. Bhatt on her way to the Parliament said, ” I am very happy with this service, I support it. It’s also good in terms of pollution control.”

More than 500 people were challaned by Delhi Traffic Police for violating the rule during the first five hours of implementing the second phase. The second phase of the odd-even traffic scheme started on April 15. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) will check the impact of the second phase of the odd-even plan on the national’s air quality at 119 locations in and around the city. Delhi’s chief minister and ministers also follow the ‘odd-even’ restrictions. A helpline has also been launched.

After second phase of odd even began, Kejriwal said that the implementation of the formula in January did not lower pollution “as much as expected” but it significantly helped reduce traffic congestion in the city. Civil defence volunteers are deployed at over 200 locations in Delhi to offer roses to those violating scheme. The government has also deployed 5,000 civil defence volunteers encourage motorists to follow odd-even rules.
