Powering the Mahindra XUV 500 Automatic is the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that does duty to the regular models. It produces a maximum power of 140bhp and 330Nm of torque. This engine is mated to the Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission, which is claimed to have optimized gear ratios or rough Indian terrains.
