On the orders issued by additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM), Muzaffarpur, Ramchandra Prasad on July 4 , the Kazimohammadpur police lodged an FIR against Sunny Deol and others on Friday in connection with the alleged abuse of Hindu gods in their film ‘Mohalla Assi’.
After some preliminary investigations and orders from higher police officers, the police lodged the FIR against actors Sunny Deol, Ravi Kishan, Sakshi Tanwar, Rajendra Gupta, Umesh Tiwary and Saurabh Shukla, producer Vijay Tiwary writer Kashinath Singh and director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi under different sections of the IPC.
A complaint petition had been filed by lawyer Sudheer Kumar Ojha on June 20 last after seeing the movie ‘Mohalla Assi’ on Internet. He had alleged that in the film made on Assighat of Varanasi, gods and goddesses revered by Hindus have been abused time and again. This is bound to affect Hindu sentiment resulting in disturbing national harmony and integrity, he added.
The complainant had also alleged that an obscene dance had also been presented in front of Lord Mahadev besides abusing and misbehaving with gods and goddesses. He informed that though the release of the film had been stopped in cinema houses on the order from a Delhi court, it had found its place on the Internet.
